Welcome to the website (the “Site”) and mobile application (the “Application”) of Destiny Guide Inc. (“Closer”, “we”, “us” and/or “our”). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and share information about you when you use our services, including our website www.mycloserapp.com and mobile application (collectively, the “Services”).

By using the Services, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Services.

This Privacy Policy is part of our Terms of Service. Please read both documents carefully.

1. Information We Collect

When you interact with our Services, we collect the following types of information:

1.1 Information You Provide

During Registration

When you create an account on Closer, you provide the following required information:

- Email address

- Password for the Closer account 

- First name or nickname

- Place of birth

- Date of birth

- Time of birth (optional)

- Gender identity

You can register through our mobile application or via our website (www.mycloserapp.com). If you register on the website, you will need to download the app and log in to access the Services.

Adding “Connections”

You can add other people (your “Connections”) in Closer through two methods:

A. Manually, by entering

- First name or nickname

- Place of birth

- Date of birth

- Time of birth (optional)

- Gender identity

B. By sharing a unique link or QR code

- When the invitee follows the link, they enter their own data via a web interface.

- Their data is not shared with you—only the generated analysis appears in your app.

- The invitee will appear in your list of Connections in the app.

Important Notes:

- Users cannot communicate within the app at this stage, but future updates may include features supporting collaboration.

- Geolocation is not used for any location-based features.

Communication & Marketing Preferences

- You can opt-in to receive marketing emails and push notifications about new features, updates, and offers.

- Important account-related changes (e.g., payment updates, privacy policy changes) will be sent via email.

Account Deletion & Data Requests

- You can request account deletion or data access through our app’s contact interface.

- We do not currently have a “Download My Data” feature, but you can request your data manually.

1.2 Automatically Collected Data

We use Google Analytics to collect aggregated usage data. We do not track individuals unless separately agreed upon in a user consent agreement.

What We Track:

- General app usage patterns

- Number of users and interactions

- Performance metrics to improve the service

- Other information which we may analyze on an aggregated basis to enhance user experience

We do not track personal behavior beyond aggregated insights.

Payments & Subscriptions

- Closer is free as of April 2025.

- We plan to introduce a payment processor for subscriptions in the future.

- Payment data policies will be updated when this feature is added.

Cookies and Similar Technologies

We may use cookies on our website to improve your experience. However, cookies are not used within the mobile application.

Device Information

We may collect non-personally identifiable data about your device, including:

- Device type and operating system

- Browser type (for website access)

- Mobile app version

- Data deletion: If you request account deletion, we will remove your data unless required for legal, compliance or regulatory purposes.

- Retention of Aggregated and Anonymized Data - upon the deletion of a user account, we may retain aggregated and anonymized data derived from the account. This data is stripped of all identifying information and cannot be linked back to any individual user.

The retention of such data enables us to: (a) improve our services by analyzing trends and user behavior at an aggregated level; (b) conduct research and develop insights to enhance user experiences; (c)ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, or reporting obligations.

By using our services, you acknowledge and consent to the retention of aggregated and anonymized data for the purposes outlined above. Such data will be stored securely and handled in accordance with applicable data protection laws and regulations.
